Student Affiliate Registration Instructions
1. Go to https://www.katymusicteachers.org and log in.
2. Register your student’s name, age, and grade info on the KMTA Student Affiliate (SA) registration page.
- Double-check student information for accuracy.
- You may register the first student in the main form, then press "Add Guest" to add an additional student. Continue adding guests until all students' names are shown on the summary page.
- The system will accept multiple registrations from each teacher, so you may begin the process again with any additional students.
- Please keep track in your personal records of all students that you have registered. KMTA is not responsible for excess fees caused by duplicate registrations.
- Complete the registration process by paying the fee. You may pay online after registering your last student (the preferred option), or you may pay by check, to be received by the SA Chair by the deadline.
3. Update or register your student on the TMTA database through the TMTA website (www.tmta.org).
- Log in to TMTA. (For instructions open www.tmta.org, select Teachers > SA Instructions for Chairs and Teachers. Videos and written documentation are provided.)
- Check your student list. Update grades, add students, check spellings, etc.
4. Make sure the information on both KMTA registration page and TMTA databases match one another.
- Each teacher will be responsible for the accuracy of his/her student’s registration information.
- Any errors could result in your student being disqualified from a TMTA event.
5. For new students in your studio, please make sure…
- Your student is not transferring from another TMTA teacher
- Your student has not participated in a TMTA event previously
If your student is a transferred student, or has participated in a TMTA event previously, please email Vicky Lim the following:
- Student’s name
- Previous teacher’s name or student’s previous TMTA ID #
Note: A student must be enrolled as a KMTA Student Affiliate to take the theory test with KMTA. NO ENROLLMENTS will be accepted by TMTA after April 1.
Important Note: If a student participates in a SA event before registering for Student Affiliate membership, the following fines will be charged by TMTA:
- Student: $16.50 (in addition to original dues)
- Student’s Teacher: $50.00
